(Cole Harbour, NS) -- NDP MLA Becky Kent is applauding a $6,055 provincial grant awarded to the Ocean View Manor Foundation. The investment is from the Positive Aging Fund and will assist the senior home and health care facility construct a Snoezelen Room.

“Snoezelen rooms are shown to be a strong therapeutic tool for individuals with physical, cognitive and sensory disabilities,” says Kent. “They can assist in the treatment of a variety of age-related illnesses and this funding will benefit the staff and residents of Ocean View.”

Earlier today it was announced that 75 seniors projects that promote safety, age-friendly thinking, and opportunities for positive aging received a total of $700,000 from three different grant programs. A complete list is available at www.gov.ns.ca/seniors
