(Cole Harbour, N.S.) – NDP MLA Becky Kent is applauding the announcement of a Community Crime Prevention and Reduction Investment Grant from the Department of Justice to the Community Safety Office in Eastern Passage.

The group received a $5000 one-time grant to assist with rent, general operating costs and the delivery of safety programs to the community.

“I want to thank Minister Landry for making this investment in the safety and security of our community,” says Kent. “The funding will allow the Safety Office to build partnerships and engage more citizens and improve the already excellent services they provide to the people of Eastern Passage.”

Today Justice Minister Landry announced that 35 organizations across the province would receive one-time grants totaling $80,000 for projects aimed at young people.
