Morton Welcomes Funding for Job Skills Training Centre in Valley
May 25, 2010

(Kentville, NS) -- NDP MLA Jim Morton is pleased about the announcement of a $550,000 investment to the PeopleWorx Society in Kentville. The funding from the Department of Community Services will go towards the construction of the Kings Opportunity Service Centre. This facility will house a complete range of professional services for people looking to reach their personal, educational and employment potential.

"I want to thank Minister Peterson-Rafuse for her dedication to helping people secure good jobs in Kings County and across Nova Scotia," said Morton. "This strategic investment in workforce development is just one of the many ways our NDP government is working to make life better for today's families."

The new building will bring together the PeopleWorx Annapolis Valley Work Centre, Kings Employment Counselling, Community Service's Job Finder's Club and Career Resource Centre and the Continuing Care Assistant Program under one roof. Construction is expected to begin this fall.
