(Liverpool, NS) -- NDP MLA Vicki Conrad is applauding a $20,000 provincial Senior Safety Grant awarded to the Queens County Crime Prevention Association.

“This joint investment from the Departments of Justice and Seniors will improve safety in our communities,” says Conrad. “It will be used to help protect seniors against a variety of risks ranging from financial scams to physical and emotional abuse.”

Earlier today it was announced that 75 seniors projects that promote safety, age-friendly thinking, and opportunities for positive aging received a total of $700,000 from three different grant programs. A complete list is available at www.gov.ns.ca/seniors
